On Facebook: Intel Visibly Smart

This is my second consecutive ‘On Facebook’ post of the week and I have one more to go! Facebook is turning out to be a platform that brands in India are loving right now. From Colgate & P&G, that never spent on digital till a year or so back, to prolific digital spenders like Axe & Intel - they are all on it, and trying out different approaches to attract a lucrative, engaged audience.

Intel, arguably, has one of the better executed Facebook pages & applications that I have seen in India. We saw the Kaleidoscope around Onam some time back - it has now been morphed into a Festive Kaleidoscope for Diwali.

The latest
is the ‘Visibly Smart’ campaign - which has this amazing and unique ‘Virtual Diya’ concept which blends OOH, Digital and mobile and works perfectly for the festive season. All you need to do is enter a Diwali message for friends and it forms a virtual Diya with posts from all over Facebook. Apart from this you can also SMS your wishes to “INTEL to 54242” and the message will appear on the Facebook page AND on a 15 feet LED digital board installed at Ambience mall, Gurgaon!

This reminds me of the Pepsi Can execution with UGC at Times Square on NewYear’s Eve, back in 2007.

There is a Get Visibly Smart section as well, which recommends a 2nd generation Intel Core processor that suits your style of functioning and requirements.
