Campaign Watch: hunts for a Social Media Speedster has tied up with the relatively new Marussia F1 team from the UK, to launch a new promo called ‘Social Media Speedster’ in India. The contest provides a unique opportunity for F1 fans to score that elusive free ticket to the Indian F1 Grand Prix and capture all the behind the scenes action, interview key team members, interact with fans, cover off-track team events and share them via Twitter, Facebook and Monster TV on Youtube (thats a bonanza!).


The promo template is the same as the international contest Monster Powered for Marussia for the US GP called ‘Social Media Driver’.

Participants need to Tweet why they are a Marussia F1 Team fan with a #SMspeedster hashtag and also post it on Facebook and get friends to like their posts. They also need to create some form of original content (video, blog or a write-up) proving why they should be selected. Top 10 entries will be shortlisted and interviewed before the lucky winner is announced. This is a great way to create social media buzz and get fans to be a part of the brand story.

On a separate note, the Anglo-Russian F1 Team (whose founding partner includes Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin group of companies) is poised to hit the big league with Russian GP kick-starting in 2014.
